Our History

Br. Nath Pai College of Physiotherapy holds the distinction of being the first Physiotherapy College in Sindhudurg district, marking a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare education landscape. The establishment of the college was a visionary initiative aimed at strengthening medical and rehabilitation services in this rural and coastal belt of Maharashtra.

The institution was founded with a clear and socially committed objective — to create competent, ethical, and service-oriented physiotherapy doctors, while simultaneously providing opportunities to students from poor and marginalized sections of society to pursue professional medical education. The management firmly believes that financial or social limitations should never be a barrier to becoming a healthcare professional.

From its inception, the college has emphasized two core principles:

  1. Quality Medical Education – Delivering strong academic foundations supported by scientific knowledge, clinical exposure, and evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
  2. Social Responsibility – Encouraging students to serve society, especially rural and underserved communities, through healthcare outreach and rehabilitation awareness initiatives.

In addition to academic excellence, the college actively works towards creating awareness about physiotherapy as an effective and scientific medical treatment modality. Through community health camps, rehabilitation programs, and public health initiatives, the institution strives to educate society about the importance of non-invasive, drug-free therapeutic interventions in modern healthcare.

Over the years, Br. Nath Pai College of Physiotherapy has emerged as a trusted centre for nurturing skilled professionals who are not only clinically competent but also socially conscious and dedicated to improving quality of life.
